Impact Africa’s mission is to motivate, educate, disciple and provoke individuals toward a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ through socially relevant outlets of ministry service; which in turn deeply impact individuals, communities and nations
With over 25 years of missions experience, Rich and Michelle Franzen launched Impact Africa in 2003. Their hearts burned with a passion to help ease the suffering of the African continent where 68% of the worlds HIV/AIDs population resides. Over the years, the Franzens have raised a multifaceted ministry focused on communities living in squatter camps on the periphery of South Africas large cities. These camps house over 10 million South Africans who struggle to survive in the desperate conditions.
Since Impact Africa’s conception, fives areas of focus have emerged: Impact Kids Preschool, The Impact Baby Rescue, Impact Mission Adventures, Impact Students, and Impact Missionary Experience. These different branches of Impact Africa were all created to help those in the poorest communities and address South Africa’s most devastating issues.

South Africa is noted for its vast beauty and contrasting harsh realities where the affluent and poverty-stricken live side by side. Severe poverty, substance abuse, rape, orphan-related issues, HIV/AIDS and other STD-related infections plague the region where over 10 million people reside in makeshift squatter homes. Lack of education creates even more obstacles to survival.
This is the harsh reality of the people we are passionate about. But we believe in a big God who is concerned for these precious ones with an everlasting love.
Impact Africa endeavors to motivate, educate, disciple and provoke individuals toward a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ through socially relevant outlets of ministry service; which in turn deeply impact individuals, communities, and nations.
Impact Africa is practically and tangibly making a massive impact through a variety of ministry outlets through our five main branches of the ministry. Our goal is to help create a deeper understanding of biblical teachings that empower nationals to live a fulfilled, productive Christian life.
We will do this through the expansion of current projects and launching of new projects within our five main areas of impact: Impact Kids, Impact Baby Rescue, Impact ME, Impact Mission Adventures, and Impact Students.
Impact Africa is blessed with an incredible staff consisting of numerous full-time American Missionaries and local Africans. Our goal is to create and provide jobs for local Africans by continuing to recruit and train nationals for as many positions as possible within each department of the ministry. We have found this to be an effective way to sustain long-term strategies and maximize impact within the communities. We are fueled by the idea of equipping, empowering, and mobilizing South Africans to impact fellow South Africans.
