We love to host groups of people who are passionate about serving, young, old, and all ages in between.
We are able to accommodate groups of different dynamics and ages, so whether you want to come with your church, your family, your friends or even alone, we would love to hot you!
Families with small children can be accommodated but prior arrangements must be made. Please contact office@impactafrica.org if you have any questions.

If you would like to bring a group of 10+ then you are able to customize your trip dates to fit your schedule throughout any time of the year. However, if your group is smaller than 10 or if you’d like to come on your own then you can contact us at office@impactafrica.org to see if we have any open availability.

The trip cost for custom group trips will vary depending on your group size and trip length. Once you have applied and chosen your dates we will be able to determine your trip price; however, a good estimate would be $1,350 to 1,500 per person plus international airfare. Our trips are primarily open to individuals who are 13 years old and above; however, if there is a participant who is under the age of 13 they may be permitted to participate if there is an accompanying family member or guardian. Please contact us at office@impactafrica.org for more information.

Yes, South Africa has implemented immigration laws for anyone under the age of 18 who is travelling to and from South Africa. There will be additional paperwork that each participant under the age of 18 must complete and have with them as they travel. We are very familiar with this process and the paperwork required, so we will assist you as you prepare these documents. The trip cost includes, ministry training, ministry supplies, in-country transportation, housing, all meals, an African Safari, a visit to the Lion Park and a nice African dinner out to eat. The only thing the trip cost does not include is your international airfare, personal spending money and any incidentals.

Groups can purchase their own flights through their own travel agency, or you can contact Skypass Travel for help with booking your flights. We have worked with Skypass Travel for 14+ years, so they know how our trips work and are able to locate great deals on tickets.

Yes! You will need a valid passport that does not expire within 6 months after your trip and with at least two blank Visa pages. For information on how to apply for a new passport, renew your passport, or add Visa pages, please visit travel.state.gov.

No, US Citizens do not require a Visa. Upon arrival in South Africa, you will automatically receive a 90-day visa, and this is free of charge and does not require any paperwork. If you are NOT a U.S. or Canadian citizen, please contact Emily (office@impactafrica.org), as you may need to apply for a visa.

You and your supporters can make donations online and via check. Once accepted for a trip, we will send you further information on how and when to make donations. All trip donations are tax-deductible and non-refundable.

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible and non-refundable as we are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The only unexpected expenses will be any form of emergency (medical, missed flight, etc.). If an emergency does arise we will ensure that you (or your child) are very well taken care of by our highly trained staff. Safety and the care of each of our short-term participants is our number one priority!

You will be staying at the Impact Africa Missions Base! Over the past 25+ years we have worked towards being able to host our own teams and expanding the Missions Base to accommodate more groups. The Missions Base boasts modest accommodation with toilets, showers, and beds. Some rooms are dormitory style, so expect to bunk with someone from your group!
Girls and boys dorms are separated, each with their own bathrooms.
Please note that heat and air-conditioning are accessible but may not be available at all times, so if you come during Fall/Winter (May-August) then it will be very cold, and if you come during the Spring/Summer months (September-April) then it will be very hot.

All meals will be provided by Impact Africa, we have an amazing team of ‘Aunties’ that cook authentic, homely meals that everyone will love!
Below is a sample of the menu you can expect;

• Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, breakfast sausages, toast, cereal/oatmeal etc.
• Lunch: Peanut butter & jelly or lunch meat sandwiches, fruits, chips etc.
• Dinner: Roast chicken, beef stew, pasta, rice, African polenta, vegetables etc.

Throughout your trip you will have an opportunity to eat out as part of your provided meals, you can also eat out at your own cost.

Please let us know about any food allergies or preferences prior to your arrival.

If you have any food allergies or intolerances (gluten, nuts etc.) you will still be accommodated. Depending on your preferences, you might be asked to bring food supplements, but, we will try our best to accommodate your needs as long as we are informed prior to your arrival.

Yes! South Africa actually has the third cleanest water in the world. Please be sure to pack your water bottle!

Our housing complexes do serve instant coffee in the morning with breakfast, however if you have a favorite instant coffee that you like, you are more than welcome to bring your own as well!

The South African electricity supply is 220/230 volts AC 50 HZ (as opposed to 110/120 volts in the U.S.). Most plugs are 15 amp 3-prong or 5 amp 2-prong, with round pins. The Type M adapter will allow you to plug your U.S. electronics into South African outlets, and can be purchased for about $5 on Amazon. Please note that adapters only change the shape of the plug, but DO NOT convert the power voltage. This means that for smaller electronics, such as phone and camera chargers, they will work just fine; however, for larger electronics/small appliances, such as hair dryers, the power voltage will not convert properly, and will ruin both the appliance and the outlet. Please make sure that whatever electronics you choose to bring (which shouldn’t be much more than a phone or camera charger), that they will be compatible with the voltage in South Africa.

Impact Africa/South Africa does not require any vaccinations or malaria medication for North Americans, however, it is always best to consult your doctor before traveling out of the country.

During your trip, you will have the opportunity to share your personal testimony, share the hope of Jesus, and pray with people through house to house evangelism. You will also have the opportunity to love on all of the kiddies as you help us lead our Jabulani Kids program in the communities! Depending on your group, you may also have the opportunity to visit some of the local clinics and hospitals with our Impact Baby Rescue Team, help us with some hands-on projects, and more. Once you’re accepted we will send you your Acceptance Guide, which will also contain your packing list. The type of clothes you pack will be determined on the time of year that you come on a trip. Please note that South Africa’s Spring/Summer is September to February and Fall/Winter is March to August.

Yes! If you would like to bring any supplies to donate, please contact us first so that we can let you know what our biggest needs are at that time.

Safety is our number one priority for each participant. We are very aware of our surroundings and will not bring a team into any area that may seem unsafe for any reason. Each housing facility is about 15-20 minutes from a hospital, so we can quickly get to a doctor if needed. We will notify parents as soon as possible if any form of emergency arises.

Upon arrival in South Africa, each participant will contact home to let their family know that they have arrived safely. There may be one or two opportunities to connect to Wi-Fi, but you should expect to have none to very limited Wi-Fi connectivity. Each group leader will have a Wi-Fi hotspot device to use for daily updates and emergencies.
